Overview

Lake Murray Currents was started by a group of people who love Lake Murray in South Carolina. The online magazine’s goal is to be the premier online source for all things happening in the local community. As its digital agency of record, JMB Designs, LLC took on the challenge of launching the entire Lake Murray Currents digital experience and continues to successfully sustain the online community.


We designed and developed a responsive website. Then we implemented proven search engine optimization techniques and data analytics strategies to:

JMB Designs looked at year 1 data for LakeMurrayCurrents.com. The data showed that top user acquisition came from Organic Search.

This led us to create a strategy to match the content on the website with the top search terms used to show Lake Murray Currents in the organic search results.

January 2020 organic search traffic increased 250% from November 2019 after we created content on the website based on top 2019 search results. All content used specific keywords and language to match search queries.

The Lake Murray Currents’ website users come to the site to get the latest information on lake levels and fishing in the community. Data showed us that ⅔ of the website users interact with the site on a desktop. The website was designed to allow for the lake levels and “Top News” to be found easily on the top of the website for both desktop and mobile users.
